A note of appreciation...

Thank you !
2007 was an amazing year for Ron. He had a good number of art exhibits and projects that allowed him to share his artwork with the community, and he was able to devote some of his free time to his oil paintings. That is tricky with his schedule, but he always finds a way.

We enjoyed meeting new art patrons and talking about the arts with our advocates and peers. I appreciate the sincere interest in Ron's artwork that comes across in the conversations we have with guests at our art exhibits and other art venues.

There is an increased focus on supporting the arts in Ohio, and any program that brings artists and art patrons together benefits all. There are many talented artists in Ohio, and it is good to see the increased activity.

Thank you all for helping us to share Ron's artwork, and I wish you all a prosperous new year !

Cordially,
Managing Partner

Social Networking

The process of sharing Ron's artwork with the community is an ongoing journey. We are always updating and changing our methods after we evaluate what does and does not work.

No matter what we do, I feel there is always so much more we can attempt. I am always pleased to hear of the many people who are already familiar with Ron's work, and are fans. Lately we have been setting aside time to reach even more people by utilizing a number of the online Social Networking sites.

I am willing to give these sites a shot, and see where they take us. So far, I have had great results in making contacts with both artists and art lovers who have contacted me through our web site or by email with interest in Ron's paintings. The ultimate goal is not to simply make a sale, but to increase our network of advocates, and to learn more about the business of marketing Ron's artwork.

Here are the sites that we have set up to date to promote Ron's work, and to meet other professionals in the arts business:

Curated Artist Slide Registry

Curated Slide Registry

I created our main web site http://www.ronandersonstudio.com to be an additional source of information for our Art Patrons.

Most of our marketing efforts involve exhibiting in galleries and museums and we benefit greatly from our networking efforts.

Our web site as an online source has proven to be an efficient and effective way to offer current information and to reach a new audience.

I have also been impressed with the interest in Ron's work that has been generated from the curated  artist slide registries that his work is included in.

The correspondence we have received sourcing from these registries has been targeted and welcome.

Ron's original oil paintings are listed with the following slide registries:

Ohio Online Visual Artist Registry Artists from Ohio and around the country

Artists Space The Irving Sandler Artists File Online

I will be deciding over the next week or so which form of business will be best for our interests and making the appropriate changes.

Ohio Business Opportunity Fair 2005

The Ohio Assembly of Councils (OAC)

I have been fortunate over the years to have worked with larger corporations that invested time and funds in training and networking opportunities for their staff. As a Business owner I watch for conferences, seminars and workshops that would be of value to me, to increase and enhance my business acumen.

I attended the Ohio Business Opportunity Fair on Tuesday 6/7/05. This was my first year participating at this event and I found the Seminars and Workshops to be time well spent.

The Ohio Assembly of Councils (OAC), consisting of the Northern Ohio Minority Business Council and the South Central Ohio Minority Business Council hosted the Business Fair.

The 2005 Conference took place at the Greater Columbus Convention Center and provided an excellent forum for networking and the building of business relationships.

The Co-Chairpersons for the 2005 Conference included:

Icy L. Williams, The Procter & Gamble Corporation

Wayne Lawrence, Closet & Storage Concepts

I was particularly impressed with two of the afternoon Seminars:

  1. Leveraging Diversity a Gateway to Business Success- This seminar covered how you define and articulate your core competencies and your "value proposition" as a business owner to your target market.
  2. Leveraging Opportunities through Joint Ventures, Strategic Alliances and Mergers & Acquisitions- This workshop covered opportunities for growth using these same strategies.

The luncheon was created as a facilitated "Town Hall Meeting" and was a valuable session where conference participants heard Best Practices of senior-level purchasing decision-makers from multiple major corporations. The facilitator fielded questions from the audience as well during this session.

As a business owner, I viewed this event as an excellent opportunity to meet and network with some of the most successful entrepreneurs and Corporate Executives in Central Ohio.

About the artist

Ronbxwphoto

Artist Statement

"Working as an illustrator and painter for more than 20 years, I have often utilized the figure in narratives to communicate the nature of the human condition.

I give each of my characters a role in my paintings that plays out like a scene from a motion picture. Carefully scripted by a personal experience, these characters go about their lives like you and me.

Many of my paintings  depict tension or energy in some way. The tension is exhibited in an attitude, an action or in some activity on the canvas. The tension is either overt or more kinetic, but is almost palpable in each piece of artwork.

The size of my paintings, along with some personal connection, pulls you into the canvas. The drag of an alto saxophone fills the room in one painting while the noise deafens you; the smoke chokes you. A fight breaks out in the corner of the room on another canvas while a pool hustler wins a round. The subjects are infinite.

Henry O. Tanner, John Sloan, and George Bellows were masters at observing and translating these types of human conditions onto a canvas in oil. My technique, drawn from what I have observed from these artists, comes with a willingness to bare my soul and to capture my life experiences with each stroke of my paint brush."

Ron Anderson Studio

Forum for Artists and Arts Patrons

I spent the early part of 2004 launching our web site  www.ronandersonstudio.com and setting up our business.

My husband  and business partner is Ron Anderson who is an oil painter and an art educator in Columbus, Ohio.

This blog will be an informal journal as we market his artwork.
